God’s Grace

John 3:16-21 reveals God’s love for us by His grace (please read my post called, “God Loves You!”).  Nothing we can do will earn salvation. It’s not by doing good deeds, praying a certain prayer, knowing the Bible or going to church, although those are all good things. You do need to repent, which means to turn from your self-centered way of thinking (we first need to realize that we are all sinners and need a Savior and only through Jesus Christ are we saved, see Romans 3:23-26) and allow God to work in your life. Accept God’s grace He has offered to you. What is grace? It is unmerited favor. It is the work of Jesus Christ on our behalf. It is the merciful gift God offers us. Romans 5:8 says, “God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us.”

So the scripture for today is Ephesians 2:1-10

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace we have been saved through faith, and that not of ourselves; it is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

I can very much identify with these verses. I was living for my own desires and was lost. But God delivered me from that bondage, changed my heart, gave me grace, filled me with love and joy and made me alive. I hope that all who read this has accepted this gift (and if not that you will) and have that peace and joy knowing that the love of God is with you and allow Him to work in you and through you. May each of you be blessed by God!

I live in the far corner of Northeastern Washington with my beautiful wife. God has blessed me tremendously and so thankful for His grace and the people He has put in my life and His work in me.
